RCSI & UCD Malaysia Campus (RUMC) announces up to 50% in scholarships for all high-achieving students at SPM/O-Levels or the equivalent, for the Foundation in Science (FIS) programme.
With only one intake per year, full-time students can begin their pre-university path to medicine in May 2019. Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) / O-Level students who score 8As and above can apply early (before 31 March 2019) to obtain the 50% scholarship. While students with 6As and above will be awarded a 25% scholarship.
Kicking off a medical career is not usually a decision to entered in to lightly. The high entry requirement, one’s financial capability, and the occasional obligatory “this is what my parents want” sentiment often plague the minds of students, making medicine one of the most revered yet feared professions to pursue. However, world-renowned medical school RCSI & UCD Malaysia Campus (RUMC) is providing an alternative in-road to medicine that removes all anxiety over this career choice.

The FIS programme is a unique pre-university pathway, allowing students to have an early introduction to the medical field before embarking on the 5-year medical degree programme. With the FIS programme, students fresh out of secondary school can get a head start in the globally sought-after RUMC experience.

You will learn to apply the biosciences whilst gaining exposure to the clinical and caregiving aspects of medical and healthcare professions before starting your degree”, she added.
“I was uncertain about a course and taking on the responsibility of living on my own. I contemplated pursuing medicine. Upon concluding the FIS programme, students who score a cGPA of 3.5 to 4.0 may progress directly to the 5-year Medical Degree Programme at RCSI or UCD and RUMC, while students with a cGPA score of 3.0 to 3.49 may proceed to a further 1-year Pre-Medical Year at RUMC.
