BSC AQUATIC AND WELLNESS CENTER
This 50,000 square-foot building contains a 50-meter competition pool, diving, recreation and lap pools and seating for spectators. Its wellness center has strength and cardiovascular equipment and a group fitness and dance studio. Children can enjoy the Turtle Beach indoor playground as well as activity-based birthday parties in the community rooms and throughout the Aquatic Center. The facility was built in 2008 by the nonprofit Streamline Foundation and organized under a joint powers agreement between BSC, Bismarck Parks & Recreation District , Streamline and others until 2014, when it was purchased by the park district.
BSC LIBRARY
Community members are welcome to use the library and apply for a library card. The BSC Library offers a relaxed and friendly atmosphere for research and study. Among the collection are books and e-books, journals and magazines, newspapers, CDs and DVDs, videos, and the BSC archives. Visitors can use public computers for Internet and email and browse the library's numerous online databases. The BSC Library is a member of ODIN (Online Dakota Information Network), which offers public access to all state libraries. When not browsing the collection, visitors can enjoy the Clell and Ruth Gannon Art Gallery and exhibits by local and regional artists, BSC faculty, alumni and student artists. The library is also a destination for BookTalk at BSC, a community book discussion, and readings by visiting writers.
MDU RESOURCES COMMUNITY BOWL
The 6,000-seat athletic complex is home field for the BSC Mystics soccer teams and the University of Mary Mauraders. Four area high schools, three middle schools and various elementary schools keep the Bowl teeming with sports events. Outdoor concerts and other community events attract music fans and others to the open air venue. Patron and visitor amenities include restrooms, two concession and grill areas, and convenient parking. Spaces include an artificial playing surface for football and soccer, nine-lane track, natural grass playing fields, and areas for shot put, discus, javelin, pole vault and high, long and triple jump events. The Bismarck Community Bowl Authority operates and maintains the complex and Bismarck State College manages it. Built in 1996, the Bowl is a partnership between BSC, Bismarck Parks and Recreation District, Bismarck Public Schools, City of Bismarck, St. Mary's High School and University of Mary.
NATIONAL ENERGY CENTER OF EXCELLENCE
Famous for its fourth floor and 180-degree view, the National Energy Center of Excellence (NECE) has become one of the city's iconic buildings. The $18.5 million "green" structure with imposing glass façade commands a hillside four stories above the Missouri River. The NECE houses BSC's seven nationally recognized energy programs and continuing education division. The third floor auditorium and conference rooms and fourth floor Bavendick Stateroom provide space for industry conferences, company training, community job/career fairs, humanities programs, film screenings, public speakers, government-related meetings, BSC-sponsored exhibits, and more.
The 120-acre campus, in the vibrant, capital city of Bismarck, is beautifully situated overlooking the Missouri River with easy access to the Interstate as well as Bismarck’s many amenities.
