Established in 1947 and having its first classes to begin in 1948, Orange Coast College (OCC) generally provides two-year academic qualification to its students in art and science degrees, certificates, and lower-division classes that can be easily transferred to other prestigious institutions. These courses are completely accredited by WASC or Western Association of Schools and Colleges which is a regional organisation located in the US that provides merited accreditation. With student enrolment of 24,000 students each semester and ranging from 70 countries worldwide, OCC is seen as the third largest institution in the US by student admittance alone.
There are approximately 130 academic and career programmes offered to prospective students. These courses would also lead to Associate of Arts and Science Degrees, Certificates of Achievement, and Transfer pathways for students to lead a 4-year universities/colleges experience.
Up until recently, Orange Coast College was given the title as “Top Community College in Southern California” from its impressive transfer rates and student retention. Other than that, OCC also takes into consideration of its international students by providing them with opportunities to gain admission and scholarships in several of US respected institutions that also include Ivy League.
