Foundation in Science in Malaysia
The course Foundation in Science is a pre-requisite for SPM and O-level graduates before they can progress to a science-related Bachelor's degree. The exact curriculum or the subject you study in Foundation in Science varies from university to university, but generally has specialist module pathways in biomedical sciences, bioscience, biotechnology, computer science, geography, psychology and pharmacy, as well as covering topics in mathematics, chemistry, and biology. You may also be given extra support in English language and study skills, so you can progress to the Bachelor's degree with confidence.
The foundation course runs full-time for either 3 semesters or 2 semesters. The three semester programme is great if you have completed a minimum of 11 years of formal education. The two semester programme is suitable if you have completed at least 12 years of formal education but need to enhance your skills in order to undertake a Bachelor's degree.
