Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) is located in Sintok, the state of Kedah, Northern Malaysia. The State of Kedah Darul Aman is a land of unique natural beauty with the greenery of lush tropical forests, rolling hills, a verdant patchwork of paddy fields, and clear blue skies. Located in the northwest of Peninsular Malaysia, and is roughly about 400 kilometres away from Malaysia's capital, Kuala Lumpur. Kedah also shares a common border with Thailand.

Getting to the university is not a problem as there are a few ways to do so.

BY RAIL:

The Malaysian Railway or Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) services major towns in Kedah and Perlis. There are daily train services from Kuala Lumpur to Alor Setar and Arau. From Alor Setar or Arau railway station, you can take a cab to UUM campus.
